The route takes you through Maasbracht, which has the largest inner harbour and the lock with the highest decline in the Netherlands. You will arrive on the island in the Maas with the fortified town of Stevensweert and Ohé en Laak. A short trip over Roermond via Marina Oolderhuuske will also take you to the double locks at Osen. On this part of the route you have an excellent view of the Maasplassen with all its water sports activities. Via the typical villages of Beegden and Heel in Central Limburg you will reach the white town of Thorn. Finally you visit the village of Wessem where you drive along the Maasboulevard.
The route is a wonderful combination of water and nature, but you will also see a lot of culture along the way in the form of castles, windmills and chapels. You will come to many unexpected places, each with their own characteristic.
